Dear Parents, Students and Friends of Northfield Elementary,

In response to many parent requests I am thrilled to announce that the teachers of Northfield Elementary now have web pages. We spent most of the day on August 26th learning how to develop a web page and then actually designing our own, thanks to Mike Jennings our Director of Information Technology.  I know for me it was definitely an exciting learning experience. Our goal is that our web pages be updated a minimum of every two weeks. Please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher if you have any suggestions as to any information that would be helpful to you as a parent to add to the web pages.

We have some more exciting news about our playground. We are in beginning stages of upgrading the playground at NES. The first signs you will see of this upgrade is that the play equipment from the upper playground will be taken out. That space will then become outdoor physical education space. Our physical education teachers found it very difficult to bring their classes to the playground for class when there were other classes having recess. Now they will have their own designated physical education area. I will keep you informed as we move forward in this upgrade as new plans develop.

Don’t forget our Homework Help starts today. See the Homework Help link on the NES Home Page for details.

Again, I am very excited that we have accessed another way to communicate with you and keep you informed. Please feel free to give us your feedback.

Have a great week!
