Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators
- If you only check out one web site for teachers, this should be it. "Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning." In addition to lists of links to sites in many different subject areas,
there are Teacher Helpers pages, such as Critical Evaluation Tools and
Assessment and Rubric Information.
The site is well organized and easy to navigate.

- Elementary Theme Pages by Jim Cornish
- This site by a Canadian 5th grade teacher is indexed by broad subject areas, then broken down into themes such as you might be covering in your own classroom. For each theme, such as hurricanes, bullying, or the solar system, there is a page of links and resources, sometimes including lesson plans and printable activity pages.

- K-3 Theme Units at Enchanted Learning
- What's your theme? From Birds to Ocean to Transportation to Colors and lots of stuff in between, you can find plenty of themes here. Each one has things like crafts, rhymes, factual information, calendars to print out and color, and other things that might be helpful for your theme unit.

- This easy to navigate site has free lesson plans, online activities, teaching strategies, and more. Most of the site is accessible to non-members, but you can sign up for free to access the rest.

- PBS TeacherSource
- TeacherSource correlates Language Arts, History, Math, and Social Studies lessons to more than 115 sets of national and state curriculum standards, including the Vermont Standards.

- USGS: Map Adventures
- Need some help teaching map skills? The U.S. Geological Survey provides this on-line teaching packet for grades K-3. For Grades 5-8, try What Do Maps Show?
The USGS Education site also has activities and lesson plans for Ecosystems, Biology, and Geology, in addition to Geography.

- Trackstar
- You can use this site to make an on-line lesson for your own class, relatively quickly and easily. "TrackStar is an on-line interface that helps instructors organize and annotate on-line resources (URLs) and file them in the TrackStar database.
The list of resources, acting like a table of contents to the Track, remains visible throughout the lesson allowing
the user/student to easily browse through the lesson and stay on track."
You can also search for existing "tracks" on the subject you are interested in.
